Pearls from the POD: How to Push Through Quitter’s Day with Accountability
Accountability PODs help people reach the goals they’ve set.
New year, new goals, new commitments. Most of us push the reset button and start the year with lofty dreams for the next 12 months. We’re passionate and decide that THIS year, we’ll accomplish great things no matter what.
Fast forward to January 19th (or thereabouts – depends on which research you embrace – Quitter’s Day – the day our resolutions go out the window.
How can you push through Quitter’s Day? Over the next few weeks, Pearls from the POD will share tips and insights to bring those goals to fruition from the accountability PODs that I run for people who are truly committed to reaching their goals. It’s not about setting a goal but rather about following consistent, actionable steps to achieve it, even when things go sideways.
To push through, to truly transform, we need 3 things:
- Awareness of what we need to do (those actionable steps)
- Understand and learn how to do it AND
- Gain Competency in doing it, which comes from consistently doing what needs to be done, week after week, month after month.
Think of it like this: you can join a gym with a great goal to improve your health. The gym is just a building, a shell that houses a bunch of stuff. To transform yourself and your health, you need a coach, a guide, someone to encourage you, push you, and create the nutrition and workout strategies you need to follow to reach your goal.
For me, that’s the role PODs play. Who is your guide?
